Adulthood is like I have to go buy more shampoo. I have to go buy more coffee grounds. I have to go buy more eggs. I have to go buy more toilet paper. I have to go buy more paper towels. I have to go buy more cumin. I have to clean the dishes so they can get dirty again. I have to do my laundry so it can get dirty again. I have to clean the bathroom so it can get dirty again. I have to buy more cleaner to clean the bathroom. I have to go buy more rice. I have to cook dinner. I have to cook dinner. I have to go buy more shampoo again.
i have to buy more shampoo so i can wash my hair and feel like a person. i have to buy more coffee grounds so i can make a little drinky. i have to buy more eggs so i can make the best omelette in the world. i have to go buy more paper goods that my home might be a clean and safe place for myself and my loved ones/pets. i have to clean the dishes so i can cook and serve a beautiful meal just for myself because i deserve that. i have to do the laundry so i can wear that shirt i really like again and maybe a stranger will tell me they like it too. do you understand?
adulthood is a neverending to-do list and the only way to survive is to find the why, even if it’s just a second of joy from sipping a warm drinky or the satisfaction of a clean bathroom
